Water Wall

I love waterfalls, even if they are man-made. In Houston there is a huge 64-foot-high semi-circular water wall. The surface is black obsidian aggregate. An incredible amount of 11,000 gallons of water per minute cascade down the inner and outer walls of the fountain. The total volume of water recycling in the inner fountain system is 46,500 gallons! It is a beautiful water fall in the city and a great spot to cool off on a hot summer day under the misty spray. The soft rushing sound of the spray compels you to draw close. This misty spray will christen you as you pose for a quick pic!

Water is a valued commodity. In third world countries, many still have to travel miles to retrieve water for their family from a central water well. In the Bible water is mentioned over 700 times. One reference found in Psalm 104:6-13 the psalmist reminds us that it is ultimately God who waters the earth and provides this life-giving source for all to enjoy. It is the liquid we need to survive.

God not only provides water for our physical needs, but also as a symbol for our spiritual needs. Allow water today to be reminder of God's unending provision for us and his creation. Ask Him to bring a refreshment to your mind, body, and soul as you reflect on the this provision. Take a break from your busy schedule or in the heat of a moment to allow God to bring you refreshment. My kudos to you is that your soul will be refreshed as you thank God for his abundant provision of water. Take a moment to marvel at the many sounds and sites of water.

He makes springs pour water into the ravines, it flows between the mountains...The birds of the air nest by the waters; they sing among the branches...the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work. Psalm 104: 10-13
