The Road Not Taken

Updated: Mar 21, 2022

Yesterday was a beautiful, brisk day in Florida. I say brisk because in the evening when hubby I and went for a walk, the forest dampness and shade, along with the wind, made it perfect conditions for a journey into the woods. In our evening walk to give the dog some exercise, we found ourselves on a new path with no map. More than once we came to a choice to go left or right with not a clue of where it would lead us. However we could still see the car through the trees, in a good distance away, so we kept that as our sign post.

How many times in life do we come to crossroads and wonder if we should go left or right? While walking last night I thought of the poem by Robert Frost and its words came to mind. "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both..." Frost goes on to say that he took the one less traveled by and that had made all the difference. As a believer in Jesus, I see that happens in my life. Being different as a Christ follower is the choice I choose, although it does not conform to the typical road that the world chooses. Yes, it means self-denial and sacrifice, but at the end of my life I can say... and that has made all the difference.

My kudos to you today? It is okay to choose the road less traveled by. Even if your choices are not popular or seen as the most contemporary in current views, live the values that are true to God's heart. You will always choose the best road.

Narrow and difficult is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it. Mathew 7:14 Amplified Bible
