Sweet Waiting

My husband had a dentist appointment at a new office and I decided to go along to see if I'd like the new office. My insurance had changed and this dentist was on my list, so I was looking forward to getting a feel for the office. My husband had the appointment and went in first. He quickly returned to the car and told me I wasn't allowed in. Due to the CoVid-19 restrictions no extra people were allowed in the office. (I should have known that of course. Duh.) Some flexibility on my part was needed.

Consequently, a stroll in the downtown area seemed like a good idea, especially since I could avoid sitting in the hot car. In a myriad of small shops and deli's, my eyes were drawn to one place in particular. How could I resist a sign that said, "Yummis Frozen Yogurt and Café?" I entered to find a nice little table to sit at by the window and watch people go by. The menu offered regular ice cream plus a dozen or more soft serve flavors. Also offered were numerous toppings of every shape, size and color! Then you paid by the weight. It was a win-win for me because we had just eaten lunch and I was opting for a smaller size. The frozen coconut yogurt was delicious and the chocolate chips made it even better. Like eating a soft serve Mounds Bar.

Reflecting now, I'm glad that I had decided to enjoy the journey of that moment, even though it turned out to be a lot different than I had planned. I thought I could go into this nice dental office, find a comfortable chair and listen to elevator music while catching up on emails from my phone. Didn't happen that day and actually I'm sure you've had similar things happen due to the new rules within offices and especially public facilities.

My kudos to you is to just expect change these days with a new flexibility. I could have very easily just sat in our car annoyed. Instead, I took the approach to enjoy the journey at that moment; it changed the whole scene. Keep your eyes scanning your horizon there are better things for you to encounter. The Lord just might have a blessing right around the corner!

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Happy is the one who puts his trust in Him! Psalm 34:8
