Sunscreen, Sunglasses and a Hat

Just returned this morning from the dermatologist for an annual screening. Please, please no matter what your age wear a hat in the sun, sunglasses and wear sunscreen. Even though I am Debbie Diligent to daily slather myself in sunscreen, today I had 4 places frozen and 2 biopsies. Skin cancer is a very real thing. We forget that the largest organ in our body is our skin!

Was it painful? Yes it was a bit, but so much better in using prevention than totally ignoring situations where there might be a bigger problem down the road. My late father lost half of his outside ear to melanoma cancer and part of his nose. Thankfully with good doctors they were able to retrieve all the cancer then reconstruct the nose and ear.

In our hurry, hurry schedules sometimes we forget the most obvious things that could be used for our betterment. God wants us to live healthy lives, but he needs us to cooperate in the maintaining of our health. I confess it's no fun to sit on a doctor's table and only be

covered up by a large size paper napkin! But when your largest organ covers your whole body, there are few options.

My kudos to you today is be brave! Don't put off those yearly check ups. You can do it! God is for you not against you. He uses very talented doctors and nurses to help us along in our journey. Jeremiah 30:17 declares to all who will believe, " I will restore you to health and heal your wounds." Go be that Wonder Woman or Captain America, just don't forget your hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen!
