Strength in Quietness

Have you ever noticed how a young fawn will freeze as it looks at you from a safe distance? The deer is not especially worried or afraid, it is simply checking out the situation. Sometimes a deer will stare and fix it's eyes on a person or object in order to decide what to do. While on our recent trip to Georgia we were blessed to see these magnificent creatures.

I'm reminded of the quietness they exhibit, even in the presence of the unknown. Their behavior could be a learning lesson to us as we face turbulent happenings in our society. Instead of constantly reacting and defending ourselves, I think we could learn a lesson from the fawns, even though they are still young in their development. Their innocence seems to display a strength.

My kudos to you today is to learn to live more in stillness than stress. When something comes to rattle you, step back, stay calm and be quiet in the situation. Learn to listen to those around you and what is happening. Let go of the conflict and allow yourself to give kindness. Similarly, fawns could represent the innocence of youth. They remind us to be gentle to those things that are unknown. Sometimes as adults we lose touch with the sense of child-like thinking. But Jesus said, "Unless you become as a little child you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3

In returning [to Me} and resting [in Me] and you shall be saved; and in [trusting]confidence shall be your strength. Isaiah 30:15 AMPC
