Simple Celebrations

The Christmas decorating for me starts the first of December. I tend to really get in the Christmas mood during December when I realize there are only weeks until the big day on the 25th! The lights go up on the tree, the Christmas card lists start, and of course a favorite recipe for Christmas cookies!

If we stop to reflect on the history of Christmas, we can come to a very humble, simple celebration. It all began in a barn or stable. No Christmas lights and no Christmas cookies to greet the newborn.

My kudos to you today is to remember where love, hope and joy entered into this world. Keep a simple perspective on Christmas this year and see if your life is not more stress free. Christ deserved to be born in a palace, but instead he was first laid in a feeding trough. A very simple entrance for one who would become the Savior of the world.

She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger(a trough where horses, donkeys, and cattle ate.) for there was no room for them in the hostel. Luke 2: 7 Message
