Seaweed Saints

I'm usually up to trying new things and I'll try most anything once. This past summer my husband and I were on a lay-over in an airport. It was nearing dinner time, so we decided to try a fast-food deli. Well, I tried the deli; Hubby went for the traditional Chick-fil-A.

I hadn't had any vegetables for the day, so why not try this unique seaweed salad. I have eaten dried sea weed chips before, consequently the grass flavor I knew to expect. But what I didn't expect was the dressing on the seaweed. It was a bit too tart plus it had a strange seasoning to which my taste buds were not liking.

Long story short, I took it back and asked for a refund. To my surprise, they asked me what I would like in exchange? I picked an order of cabbage rolls. It seemed a little safer plus I was getting some vegetables in the cabbage! LOL

Hubby snapped a quick pic, so he could remind me later of the time I ordered seaweed salad. After recounting the event to my daughter-in-law, she told me that she loves seaweed salad. I guess there are those out there with taste buds that fit! Nutritionally, it is an excellent source of iodine which your body doesn't make on it's own. It also contains many antioxidants and a mineral vital for your thyroid function. (see Webmd.com)

My kudos today is to all the seaweed saints who are making healthy choices for the betterment of their brain and body. We are only given one body in our life, so try and make the best of it. Venture out in new areas. Try at least to acquire a taste for the things you know are nutritionally healthy for you. Your taste buds could like the change and who knows, you could become another Seaweed Saint!

3 John 1: 2 Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.
