Savor the Moments

It is well noted that Thanksgiving is the most highly traveled time of the season. This year AAA predicts 53.4 million people to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday. People want to reconnect with family and friends and try to recover time lost from the pandemic restrictions we all faced last year.

We did our family traveling in October to avoid the high traffic on the roads during the holidays. It was a fun time to love on our three grandchildren and embrace the newest arrival! Our son and daughter-in-law were such fantastic hosts to warmly welcome us to come for a visit, even though they had just moved into their house and were in the process of remodeling! My son said it was like organized chaos. LOL

My kudos to you today is if you can't be close with family this season, maybe because of health, work or the economy logistics, savor the past moments. Share with a friend the good feelings you've had in the past like a classic jello salad or special dessert. Make a favorite food or recipe you remember that you had during Thanksgiving as a child. Count your blessings by making a list of at least 10 things that you are thankful to have or have enjoyed in your past. Savor the moments, be thankful, and say a prayer in thanksgiving to God from whom all blessings flow. It is good for your health!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good: for his mercy endures forever. Oh give thanks unto the God of gods for His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1-2
