Recipe for Happiness

Over the last year I have reconnected with my daughter. She will be twenty-eight on her birthday. I say reconnected because there has been a season of time where our communication was just once or twice a year, for Christmas and birthdays. Now we are getting together once a month for an outing like lunch, shopping or going to a local tourist attraction.

Around Valentine's Day we met for lunch. Afterward we were shopping and she picked out a cute plaque for me titled, " A Recipe for Happiness." I loved it and now it hangs in my kitchen as a reminder of God's loving restoration ability. His love, his patience, his laughter, his kindness are the perfect ingredients for a recipe of happiness. These are the ingredients that make for baking a happy heart and relationship. We decided to let go of the past and bake some happiness in the present!

My kudos to you today is to keep praying and believing for that person, friend or relative that seems distant. Let go of the past and create your happiness in the present. Reach out to them with four cups of love, some kindness, and don't forget to have a grateful heart. The final product might not be like what you pictured, but be grateful for however the recipe turns out! Love endures forever!

Old things have passed away: behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17
