Let go and let God

What stands in front of you today that you are fearful about? Hanging on to the secure things can be comforting, but is it always the best for us? Recently at a near by state park, there stood an ominous structure. Really? No, it was just a workout bar to help strengthen your arm muscles. Feeling like a kid, my heart said, go for it! However, once I climbed up to the top step and latched on, it was much higher than it looked! Plus, it was ominous as I looked down the row and saw how many bars there were to cross to the other side. I knew I had to at least try.

I surveyed the challenge while keeping my feet firmly planted on the top of the ladder. Then the "what if's" started flooding my mind. What if I fall? What if I get a blister? What if I pull a muscle? So, I went for plan B. Grab on to the closest bar while still having my feet planted. Then I can swing forward to see how it feels and then swing back to safety. I consoled my adventurous self by at least "trying." There was something inside me that would not allow a defeat in the moment, even if it was just crossing two bars! LOL

So the story ends; I swung out and held for a moment. Did I try to cross any more bars? No, I swung back to home base, laughing joyfully that I had made it to the first two bars.

My kudos to you today is to swing out into the unknown. Let go of your fears that you are battling. Trust God to train you and strengthen your faith muscles. You might only make it to the first two bars, but when you let go of the fear you will see that you can make it! Even if it's just a short distance, you can feel the exhilaration to say, "I made it this far and next time I will go further!" God wants you to feel His strength in the journey!

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle. Psalm 18: 33-34
