When life throws you an unexpected punch, what is your first response? Well, for some of us, we catch our breath and get back up. For others, depending on the blow, we might sit dumb-founded and sit seeing stars, but eventually we get back up. What has knocked you down lately? It could be a bad doctor's report or an unexpected call from a loved one that they were involved in a tragedy. Perhaps you've gone through financial loss during the last several years due to covid where the pandemic caused lay-offs which led to loss of a job and income. All these different situations can seem overwhelming and you wonder how you will ever get back up.
A while ago, my hubby and I went to see the movie The American Underdog. It tells the true story about Kurt Warner, who longs to become an NFL player but faces years of setback which keep him from his goal. He goes from a stock-boy in a grocery store to a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl Champion and eventually ends us in the NFL Hall of Fame. When Warner got discouraged he held onto his faith along with the support of his wife and encouragement of family, coaches, and teammates. These all kept him going. With their support and his determination of hard work, Warner prays to persevere for the strength he needs to become a champion.
My kudos to you today is to never give up when you are pursuing a life goal. You may feel knocked down, but you are not out. There is always someone on your side cheering for you. That someone is Jesus. He is there to encourage you and support you until you reach your goal. In a world that is constantly changing, where people are constantly leaving due to job change, family break-ups or death, God's encourages us that he will never leave us. So keep on keepin' on, there is always someone on your side. You may feel knocked down, but you're not out!
I will never leave you nor forsake you.
