Cindy and the Saints

We have a new neighbor that just moved in and lives right behind us. She loves Saint Bernard dogs. In fact she owns three of them and has a giant ten-foot Christmas blow-up of a Saint Bernard in her front yard. Last week I took her over a pumpkin pie just be neighborly. It was then I learned that she also is a dog breeder and her name is Cindy.

I never have known anyone to own three Saint Bernard dogs and I find it fascinating. Cindy shared that she had just moved down here from New York where this breed of dogs is very popular. She said she always had a waiting list for her litters. Wow!

Our mostly quiet neighborhood now includes a few extra sounds...barking dog voices. LOL It struck me how quickly our circumstances can change over some things we have no control over. We can either allow ourselves to be aggravated or we can choose to laugh and thank God for sounds of life. Maybe in our ideas of having things just the way "we" like them, we forget to keep a perspective of peace and joy.

My kudos to you today is to finally allow yourself to find joy even in the aggravating places of life. There can be a place where we thank God for the gift of life and the ability to hear noises, even barking dogs! You never know someday you might get a new neighbor, or move somewhere that you don't know who your neighbors will be. Jesus told us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. I guess I need to do some more self-reflecting! LOL

Love you neighbor as you love as yourself. Mark 12:31
