Chocolate in Any Language!

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

Today one of the students I tutor from Brazil brought me a piece of cake she had made. It is a traditional Brazilian dessert. The common story is that the cake was originated by a confectioner from Rio de Janeiro to promote the presidential candidacy of Eduardo Gomes. It is called Brigadeiro!

The first bite was scrumptiously delicious and creamy. The texture was very moist, but light at the same time. This moist, chocolatey cocoa-based cake has a brigadeiro filling consisting mostly of condensed milk, cream, and cocoa powder.

Is your mouth watering yet?

Chocolate in any language works for a lot of us. But what brings us together more than the delight of enjoying a dessert is the joy we share in Christ. God's love in any language transcends language barriers also.

My kudos to you today is to taste God's goodness by reflecting on His love. His love comes in different forms to us. It may be a through a close friend, a gentle, warm nudge from your dog, or even a piece of cake! Our natural God-given capabilities that we experience through our five senses are often taken for granted. Know that God's love reaching out to all in any language can be as sweet to your soul as chocolate!

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
